My sisters and I are obsessed with Pinterest (you too? ... some crazy awesome ideas on there, right?!).
Anyways... we are always pinning craft projects, quotes, wall art we like, home decor and other things and then discuss how we can recreate it.
Well when she sent me a link to a framed piece, I knew I could do it, and possibly better. I love the way it turned out and can't wait to see it adorning her super cute laundry room (Misty... be sure to send me a picture!).
I missed posting this yesterday for Wall Art Wednesday, but better a day late than not at all right?
I've been working on lots of projects around here lately (furniture refinishing, new bedding for the master bedroom, etc). My most favorite project lately has been decorating my soon-to-arrive baby boy's nursery.
I am as addicted to Pinterest as everyone else these days and have compiled a Pin Board of my favorite Wall Art. I decided to use some of the pins as inspiration for a wall collage for my little man of my favorite quotes and images.
So I thought I'd share what I have so far. The following will be part of a larger wall grouping. I am printing them and framing with bright and colorful wooden frames and adding newborn and maternity pictures to the mix.

More about why today is special:
Shelly Pickle was only 15 years old when she left us. She was my best friend. She had a contagious laugh... full of joy and wit. Her smile could light up a room and she had no idea how beautiful she was to so many of us that called her "friend". Because she always encouraged my creativity and was one of my biggest cheerleaders, I pursued writing, photography and art with a passion. She helped me believe in my abilities and encouraged me in her quiet way. (Even if she made fun of the "big" words I always used).
With each milestone in my life, I mourned her loss again, wishing she had been there with me at prom, graduation, and on to college. I have found myself wondering what her children would have looked like and what kind of mom she would have been. I know she is in a happy place with Jesus by her side and the angels as her friends.
If I had to guess, she is probably keeping them all in stitches with her self-depreciating humor. I still quote her on a bad hair day and say "My hair looks like CA-CA today." God I miss that girl. :)
I am just grateful for the years she was in my life and the influence she had on it. I will never forget you PickleSue. xoxo.

Meet the "chickens"... as they lovingly refer to themselves. A group of friends (or chicks) brought together many years ago through a mutual employer and now still bonding over coctails and gourmet Tex Mex to talk about dating, husbands, kids and parenting (and other things they probably wouldn't want me to mention - ladies have their secrets, ha). Thanks for letting me share your reunion with you. It was fun!
Photo editing is one of my most favorite things... Especially when there are wonderful aspects of a photo but just a few "off" things that need to be fixed so your eye goes to the interesting areas.
Grunge or Texture is one of the newest methods of photo editing. Taking a normal photograph and making it creative and artistic.
One of my fellow Scentsy Consultants put her family and annual christmas card in my hands. They were my first professional shoot with my new Sony Alpha200, so I was nervous. But we had lots of open shade and just a slight overcast... perfect day for photos. And with such beautiful children and parents... how could I go wrong?
I was given the opportunity to put my portraiture skills to good use when my friend Staci, who owns a in-home daycare, called me asked me to help her do the fall portraits of all her clients children. I was excited to jump into my new venture and edited over 200 pictures in under 2 weeks. I learned a lot of lessons through the process... and although it's not some of my best work... the kids were adorable and I had so much fun working with their pictures.
