I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - “Pets Only” - Denton County Photographer

When I Heart Faces said their challenge this week was all about PETS... I knew exactly which picture I was going to submit.

This guy was running around at a recent family session I had.

I was adjusting my settings when he ran into view and gave me that "Hey take MY picture!" look.

He was super sweet and loving, how could I resist? (I almost slipped him in my bag and took him home).

W Family Sneak Peak - Denton County Photographer

As a photographer, there are three things that make a session perfect: attractive and engaging subjects, beautiful backgrounds and scrumptious lighting. When I headed to this family's home to take a portrait session last week, all the stars aligned and I had all three.

Enjoy your sneak peak Jodi --- and thank you for letting me have so much fun at your gorgeous home with your family. The rest of your gallery will be ready within the next day or so.

WHOOPS - the author of "Understanding Exposure" is Brian Peterson (the original flyer above says Scott Kelby... I should not make flyers at 2 a.m. when my brain is asleep). My apologies.

Photo 101 by Lucky Star Designs & Photography is for ANYONE who has a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera and wants to learn how to shoot with more confidence and creative control. Nikon, Sony, Canon, etc. owners are all accepted.

This is a hands-on workshop with a small group (2-5 participatns at a time), includes live shooting demonstrations & plenty of time for questions. You will learn: camera concepts (creative control of aperture and shutter speed), f stops & controlling depth of field (the best reason to own a DSLR), exposure modes (PASM, how to get off auto), metering modes (how does your camera decide on an exposure? When should you take over?), focusing modes (how to keep your camera locked onto your subject), camera menus (ISO, white balance and some other settings), resolution (quality, JPG, RAW, TIFF), support/stability (tripods, stance, leaning & breathing), shooting people (working with your subject and the importance of background). We will have an assignment at the end of the workshop to shoot a casual portrait assignment (this will include an assignment review to reveal surprises and near-misses.)
